On October 19, 2018, CIMC Raffles and Yantai Salvage Bureau of Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China signed a contract for the construction of a piling salvage engineering vessel in Yantai, Shandong Province, marking the formal start of the project. This is a new breakthrough achieved by the two parties on the basis of years of cooperation, and is another joint effort of Yantai Power in the process of developing a strong marine city.

Yantai Salvage Bureau is one of the three major professional salvage bureaus in China, and ranks among the largest and most advanced marine salvage and marine engineering companies in Asia. It has 40 vessels of various types, such as ocean tugs, marine supply vessels, large crane vessels and large deck cargo vessels, and is responsible for the non-life salvage of northern China's sea areas, ports and waterways, the salvage of sunken ships, wrecks and distressed aircraft, and the removal of oil spills at sea etc.

Both CIMC Raffles and Yantai Salvage Bureau are professional offshore enterprises in Yantai, and the two parties have started friendly cooperation since its inception. Yantai Salvage Bureau has been providing high-quality services for projects launching, equipment hoisting, mooring operations and platform towing to CIMC Raffles. It has also witnessed the growth of CIMC Raffles from a local shipyard to today's international offshore engineering enterprise who has been becoming one of the preferred contractors of design and construction of deepwater platform. In August this year, Yantai Salvage Bureau announced the winning bidding by CIMC Raffles with RMB 615.46 million for the construction of this piling salvage engineering vessel.

It is reported that the vessel is mainly used for emergency clearance and salvage operations in coastal and offshore shallow waters. It has the functions of lifting, transportation, storage and replenishment. It can be used for equipment lifting, overall salvage of small wreck, auxiliary salvage of large wreck, cargo and oil offloading in storage of wrecked vessels and the accommodation support etc. It can also be used for the transportation and installation of wind turbines in offshore wind farms, platform maintenance and other support sevice. After delivery, the ship will further strengthen the emergency rescue and salvage capacity in northern sea of China, effectively deal with the emergency salvage and salvage incidents under harsh sea conditions, and improve the efficiency of salvage and salvage.

As a leading offshore engineering enterprise in the industry, CIMC Raffles has delivered more than 70 projects of various types up to now. The contracted project will be constructed at its Longkou construction base, which has abundant resources and experience in the fields of self-elevating platform, and high-end fishery facility construction, and has established a specialized and characteristic safety and quality management mechanism.

"We will uphold the HSE concept of safe, healthy and green operation, build this salvage engineering vessel with the capability of building"the most important thing of the country", provide assistance to Yantai Salvage Bureau, guarantee the safety of life, environment and property at sea, support the construction of Yantai's strong marine city, and escort the strong marine province and marine power." Li Minggao, Vice President of CIMC Raffles, said.
