Supporting the maintenance of offshore wind farms during Guangdong Province's 14th Five-Year Plan, Gwind Renewable Technology Company officially launched the "LIANG HAI 101" vessel

On May 9th, the "LIANG HAI 101" offshore wind power maintenance vessel, built by China International Marine Containers Group's subsidiary, CIMC Gwind Renewable Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Gwind"), was successfully launched. This vessel will significantly improve the operational efficiency of offshore wind farms in Guangdong Province during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, providing stronger safety assurance for offshore wind power maintenance operations.

Li Peng, General Manager of Gwind, and Chen Xiaoliang, General Manager of Afai Southern Shipyard Ltd, as well as representatives and experts from State Power Investment Corporation, Huadian Fuxin Energy Corporation, CGN New Energy Holdings Co., Ltd, Guangdong Electric Power Group, China Three Gorges Corporation, China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group, Shanghai Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, Huazhou Marine, CCS Guangzhou Branch, and other relevant units attended the launching ceremony. During the event, a forum on "Design and Innovation of Offshore Wind Power Maintenance Vessels" was held, and the collaborating parties will jointly promote the high-quality development of offshore wind power maintenance vessel equipment.

The "LIANG HAI 101" is a fully aluminum catamaran-type high-speed vessel, designed and built according to international standards for high-end wind power maintenance vessels. It has a total length of 30.25 meters, a beam of 9.5 meters, a draft of 1.75 meters, and a speed of 25 knots. With a range of over 500 nautical miles, it possesses excellent navigability, wave resistance, speed, maneuverability, and safety. It is certified by the China Classification Society (CCS) and can meet the demands of personnel transportation and wind farm maintenance during the construction and operation periods of offshore wind farms nationwide.

With a focus on the national "carbon neutrality" target, CIMC has been deeply involved in the comprehensive development of marine resources. Its capabilities span the entire industrial chain of offshore wind power, including the development of offshore wind farms, research and development, construction of wind power equipment, as well as maintenance and engineering services. Gwind, as a technology-oriented enterprise under CIMC, specializes in the renewable energy sector. Since its establishment, it has provided support for 232 onshore wind farms, 22 offshore wind farms, and over 8,200 wind turbines. In the future, Gwind will strive to build a complete life cycle service for offshore wind power, comprehensive management of underwater and vessel assets, and establish a home port of offshore O&M bases, continuously contributing to the development of clean energy and the marine economy in China.
