On October 11, Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Limited (hereinafter referred to as "CIMC Raffles") and BP signed a FEED (front-end design) contract for a self-elevating accommodation platform in London. As part of the first phase development of the Tortue/Ahmeyim oilfield of BP, the contract stipulates that both parties can sign a EPC contract at a later stage. BP is one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world who operates in more than 70 countries. Since the 1970s, BP has been doing business in China.
The platform will serve the Tortue/Ahmeyim oilfield development project, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project located in the sea of Mauritania and Senegal. The platform is designed to accommodate more than 200 people with a service module. And it will be installed and operated in the sea of about 30 meters deep.
"This platform will provide high-quality living quarters on the sea according to industry standards." Fu Qiang, assistant director of CIMC Raffles R&D and Design Center, said that the platform would provide enough safe and comfortable living space for the operators. Living area design not only meets the highest design standard of American Classification Society, HAB++ (OS), but also meets the internal standards of BP.
" on the basis of proven design of Agosto 12, we research and develop the design jointly with Bassoe Technology (BT), the R&D center of CIMC in Sweden. We believe that we can provide customers with satisfying solutions." Tang Shengxuan, Vice President of CIMC Raffles, said
