Strong alliance, CIMC Raffles and Wärtsilä signed a strategic cooperation agreem

On 4th September 2018, CIMC Raffles and Wärtsilä Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Finland. The two companies will be the preferred suppliers of both parties, and jointly develop new business opportunities, explore new business models and develop advanced technologies. The two sides aim to jointly develop and innovate the new technology through strong alliances, enhance the intelligence and economic performance of marine and offshore equipment, expand industrial layout, and achieve sustainable development.

CIMC Raffles is a leading offshore industrial enterprise in China. As people's demand for marine resources increases, they actively explore new kinetic energy. From the traditional offshore industry to the deeper and wider ocean, they have entered the deep-sea fishing industry. Equipment, sea recreation, clean energy, power barge and other fields. As a offshore integration enterprise, CIMC Raffles has built a strong supply chain system that can provide timely and reliable materials to customers all over world, which has become a core competitiveness of CIMC Raffles. Currently, CIMC Raffles has formed a strategic or long-term relationship with 65 of the world's leading suppliers.

Wärtsilä is a global leader in providing intelligent technology and lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets, focusing on maximizing the environmental and economic benefits of customers' vessels and power plants by focusing on continuous innovation, total efficiency and data collection and analysis. Previously, Wärtsilä has provided main engine and thruster package services for the COSL series and the “Blue Whale” series built by CIMC Raffles, which provides a safe and effective power guarantee for the platform. In recent years, Wärtsilä has gradually expanded its layout in the fields of wind power, nuclear power, and deep-sea fishing equipment, which coincides with the development of CIMC Raffles.

According to the strategic agreement signed by the two parties, Wärtsilä will become the preferred supplier of CIMC Raffles, providing the good materials with competitive prices and optimal delivery cycles for CIMC Raffles. Wärtsilä will also select CIMC Raffles as the preferred supplier for all its potential projects and expand its module construction business. At the same time, the two sides will jointly develop new business opportunities, explore new business models, and cooperate in power barge, seawater purification, FSRU, FLNG, intelligent fishery equipment, cruise ships, ferries and other fields. The two sides will also explore in research and development, intelligent manufacturing and other aspects. With the recovery of the marine and offshore industry, the deepening cooperation between CIMC Raffles and Wärtsilä will enhance the strength of both parties in providing the more competitive products and services to customers in more fields.

It is worth mentioning that CIMC Enric, CIMC Raffles' brother company, signed a strategic agreement with Wärtsilä in February of this year, and became a strategic supplier of Wärtsilä. For CIMC, the strategic cooperation between CIMC Raffles and Wärtsilä means that the industrial chain layout of offshore and energy is further improved.
