On the basis of retaining the floating support installation and semi-submersible transportation function of the original offshore CNOOC 278, a set of cable turntable system with a maximum cable carrying capacity of 10,000 tons is arranged at the rear of the main deck, and a gantry system with a lifting capacity of about 60 tons is equipped at the stern of the main deck, which is used for the cabling operation at the stern. The stern starboard side is equipped with a lifting capacity of not less than 60 tons&20 meters-deck crane, which is used for horizontal flexible cable laying operation, lifting and burying cable machine operation, and taking into account the auxiliary operation of cable turntable system.
This project is reconstructed from a unmanned deck barge with the cable layer equipment in stern and a 8000T cable drum in the middle. Two 50T cranes are arranged around the cable drum. It also equipped four positioning winches and two full rotary rudder OARS to carry out the locate function and reach DP2 class. This project wouldbecome the largest tonnage cable layer ship in China after delivery.
