On September 22, 2026, marking the 44th anniversary of CIMC's production launch, CIMC Raffles Longkou held the keel-laying ceremony for the H618 project — Van Oord's new-generation subsea rock installation vessel — and the construction commencement ceremony for the H619 project on the same day. The achievement of these two milestones adds a new chapter to the partnership between the two companies.

The keel-laying transitions the H618 from prefabrication to hull assembly and full-scale precision construction. Outfitting and commissioning will proceed in sequence.Meanwhile, steel cutting on the H619 officially commences its build. The two vessels will now advance in parallel, keeping the project on a steady and efficient footing.

Classed by Bureau Veritas, these vessels feature a methanol multi-fuel hybrid propulsion system, large carrying capacity, high positioning accuracy and low-carbon operation.
Once delivered, the vessels will support offshore energy infrastructure development overseas.
Van Oord owner representatives, Bureau Veritas and the CIMC Raffles project team attended the event. At the ceremony, Maurits den Broeder, managing director of Offshore Energy at Van Oord, said: "We no longer see CIMC Raffles merely as a shipyard. WE see you as a trusted partner. And indeed, as a member of the Van Oord family."

CIMC Raffles credited the successful delivery of both milestones to its team's unwavering commitment and teamwork.
Together with Van Oord, CIMC Raffles is building greener, smarter offshore equipment for a cleaner ocean energy future.
