On 24 August 2026, during ONS2026 in Stavanger, Norway, DNV granted two Approval in Principle (AiP) certificates to CIMC Raffles for its Generic FPSO and BT‑400 PAU self-elevating platform designs. Torgeir Sterri, DNV Senior Vice President and General Manager of Offshore Division, delivered a speech at the certification ceremony, while Erik Carlberg, DNV Offshore Market Development Director, together with representatives from CIMC Raffles and cooperating partners, witnessed the awarding.

Independently developed by CIMC Raffles, the Generic FPSO is a standardized floating production unit with comprehensive oil and gas processing and large-capacity crude oil storage capabilities, adapting to diversified offshore field development demands.

The BT400 PAU is a custom self-elevating platform developed for European operator OIM. Designed for well plugging, cementing and platform dismantling operations, it is applicable to harsh sea conditions in the Norwegian North Sea and U.S. offshore waters, supporting offshore facility decommissioning projects.

CIMC Raffles and DNV have maintained long-term cooperation in offshore equipment R&D, standard verification and certification. The newly obtained AiPs represent another key technological achievement of the bilateral collaboration. Both parties will continue to advance core marine equipment technologies, as CIMC Raffles further scales up high-end offshore equipment development and strengthens its global project delivery and technical service capabilities.
