On February 28, CIMC Raffles Signed a 1,600t Offshore Wind Turbine Installation Vessel (WTIV) EPC Contract with CRCC Harbour & Channel Engineering Bureau group Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as the "CRCC-HCEB"), the vessel will be the most advanced fourth-generation self-propelled Wind Turbine Installation Vessel in China.
CRCC-HCEB group is the only hydraulic construction based wholly-owned subsidiary of the CRCC one of the most powerful and large-scale comprehensive construction groups in China and even in the world, one of the Fortune 500.
The WTIV is featured with characters as 136 meters long, 53meters width and 10 meters depth, as well as accommodating 120 persons onboard, the main crane lifting capacity reaches more than 2,000 tons, and is to be equipped with 4 triangular legs.
She will be suitable for the offshore installation of various types of wind turbine with 15 to 20 MW capacity.
The general indicators are in the leading position in China, especially the lifting capacity, lifting height and operating water depth, which will make the operation capability of domestic WTIVs to reach new level.
The overall technical indicators are in the leading position in China, especially lifting capacity, lifting height and operating water depth, which elevates the technical level of jack-up wind power operating platform to a new height. The Vessel will enter into service for the offshore wind farms in Chin construction after delivery.
As the leading assembly design and construction enterprise in China, CIMC Raffles has been refined in the field of offshore wind power for several years, seized the opportunity of global sea wind power development opportunities, and actively promoted the strategy of clean energy at sea. At present, CIMC Raffles has gained rich experience in WTIVs’ Engineering, purchasing and construction.
The project most advanced 1600t wind power installation projects across the country will further enhance the industry influence of CIMC Raffles in the field of clean energy application.
