Recently , a marine ranching platform named “ChangYu 1#” which is designed and built by CIMC Raffles indenpendently, was officially delivered and towed to the installation place near the NanHuang Island, north of ChangDao, providing facility assistancs for the establishment of NanHuang National Marine Ranching demonstration area. “ChangYu 1#” was the first marine ranching platform which integrated 5G communication base station, becoming the first Marine ranching platform to demonstrate the application of 5G technology.
The main dimension of “ChangYu 1#” platform is 25 meters long by25 meters wide, 2.5 meters moulded depth. Different from the conventional marine ranching platform delivered by CIMC Raffles in the past few years, the “ChangYu 1#”platform will not only usedfor normal functions like marine monitoring, leisure fishing, and other functions, but also plays an important role in aquaculture fish farming. Solar and wind power generation will supply the daily electrical consumption of aquaculture operation, in addition, the platform is also equipped with a sewage treatment plant, truly realizing the target "safety, environmental friendly and no pollution"
The platform is equipped with a big data monitoring system that can realize real-time monitoring of meteorological, water temperature, water quality, flow velocity and other seawater data. The steel floating aquaculture cage connected with the platform is 28 meters long by 28 meters wide, with a fish farming volume of 5,000m³. Different fish farming experiments will be carried out separately to obtain different data of living habits of fish, breeding experience, and provide basis for large-scale aquaculture. In the process of breeding, the platform is equipped with an automatic wind feeding machine, which can cooperate with the dispenser to realize up to 64 feeding points, so as to accurately allocate the feedto each cage connected with the platform.
"With the help of 5G technology, the platform can conduct scientific and automatic aquaculture in the deep sea, which will not only relieve the environmental pressure brought by traditional offshore aquaculture fish farms nearshore and inner bay, but also reduce aquaculture diseases and improve the quality and harvest of fish ."Farming sea bass in this cage, 50,000 kilogram of fish will harvest in two years." In addition, the platform's operating model is different from that in past. According to the introduction, the previous farming model for fishermen is investment operation integration model, that is, fishermen are not only the investors of breeding equipment, but also the farming operators. The new intelligent cage of the platform will be leased to farmers, and the operation unit is Shandong Nanhuang City Ocean Development Co., LTD., a joint venture company of CIMC Blue, Nanhuang Village and BeijingYisheng Company.
"This mode of operation has greatly reduced the threshold for ordinary self-employed fishermen to enter deep-sea farming, as well as reducing the farming risks caused by extreme weather, so as to help Nanhuang village break the current bottleneck in the aquaculture industry and achieve a new breakthrough."
