On 08 June 2020, CIMC Raffles punctually starts the construction of No.2 vessel of the world biggest LNG powered,5,800 LM series MegaRoRo NewBuildings which were ordered by the Swedish shipping giant Wallenius SOL.
This vessel is the second unit of this two-firm-two-optional-vessel project which officially entered into force on 18 April 2019, being the world biggest LNG powered and ice class NewBuildings, classified by Lloyd’s Register with flying Swedish Flag. The vessels are characterized as 241.70m long, 35.20m wide with 5,800 lane meters and 20 knots speed, will equip with two Type C LNG tanks with capacity of 685 cubic meter each.
Fully taking advantage of past rich experience in coordination and project management, CIMC Raffles started the construction of the firm units of this project successfully and punctually as planned amid the COVID-19 keeps raging domestically. Such stage success not only strengthened the confidence of the whole project management group, but built a strong base for punctual project delivery. At the same time it also shows CIMC Raffles’ determination and confidence toward providing high quality production and service with high efficiency.
The on-time starting of the project construction enhances the development base of CIMC Raffles’ international RoRo main-stream market as well as the staged milestone of further approach to high-end RoRo and RoPax new business.
