JOSTEIN ALBERT was developed by Nordlaks and NSK Ship Design. CIMC RAFFLES took the basic design, detail design and assembly fabrication. Its length is 385m and width is 59.5m. The total area is equal to 4 standard football playgrounds. It was composed by 6 net cages and could breed about 200milion salmon which weights 10 thousand ton.

This fish farm is the first one fixed by turret mooring system. In the daily operation, the Unit could rotate around theturret for 360°following the trend and speed up seawater exchange in order to improve the aquaculture environment. This turret mooring syste can help to reduce the tack of the sea wave to keep safe in bad climate.

At the same time, in order to meet the needs of modern aquaculture, the fish farm is equipped with the world's most advanced automated salmon aquaculture system, which can realize the functions of automatic fry delivery, automatic feed feeding, underwater lamp monitoring, underwater oxygen increasing, dead fish handling, and automatic adult fish hunting. In addition, the Unit complies with the world's most stringent NORSOK () standards, and is adapted to the extreme cold weather and harsh sea conditions off the Norwegian fjords.Due to its large size, high configuration, strict standards, can be called the "big MAC" in fish farm.

During the construction,. Compared with the conventional mega modular mating, due to giant truss structure, six erection seams shall be mated simultaneously, the difficulty coefficient increased greatly. The construction standard of steel structure is high, and the welding quantity of special-shaped structure is large. The paint meets the highest coating standard "NORSOK M501", and the "perfect and strict" coating process design life is 25 years.

" JOSTEIN ALBERT combines Norway's advanced Marine engineering design capabilities with China's high-end equipment construction capabilities. With the full cooperation of shipowners, design companies, classification societies, suppliers and other parties, we have made a number of technological breakthroughs and technological improvements, enriching our experience and capabilities in the field of profound aquaculture cages. ” said by the Executive Vice President of CIMC RAFFLES Ni Tao.

CIMC RAFFLES is a leading offshore engineering equipment contractor in China. They has successfully developed a number of aquaculture cages for different sea areas through independent innovation and the R&D pattern of sino-european interaction. JOSTEIN ALBERT is the first international order fitting for far and deep ocean, with overcoming without fabrication experiences and strict design and construction standards. They also breaking through a number of core technologies such as the overall design and calculation scheme of the mesh garment and filling the gap in related fields in China.

Nordlaks is the well-known enterprise of salmon farming in Norway, who move salmon farming from offshore to far and deep ocean in response to the Norwegian government's green fishery policy. JOSTEIN ALBERT will overcome the difficulties such as frequent fish diseases and insufficient space in Norwegian fjords, and make full use of ocean space, improve the environmental benefits of salmon farming, and perform as a good demonstration of this type of farming equipment in Norway.
