CIMC Raffles offshore engineering co LTD and CNPC offshore engineering co LTD signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Yantai on sept 14, 2017.The agreement stresses that the advantages of CNPC in general contracting management and CIMC Raffles in equipment design, construction and operation management should be brought into full play to jointly promote the development of the global deepwater drilling and trial production market of natural gas hydrate in the South China Sea as well as actively explore various cooperation modes to expand offshore engineering business at home and abroad.
The contracting parties reviewed and affirmed their long-standing cooperation in various business areas. Since 2013, CIMC Raffles has successively carried out maintenance and upgrading works for the platforms of "CPC 61" and "CPC 10", built and delivered the jack-up drilling platform of "CPC 15". In August 2016, the two sides signed the "deepwater drilling platform technical service contract", which provided a solid and powerful guarantee for the success of the national gas hydrate trial production project in the South China Sea by virtue of the overall engineering contracting capacity of CPC and the excellent performance of CIMC Raffles "Blue whale 1" drilling rig. At the ceremony, CPC presented a banner to CIMC Raffles, affirming CIMC Raffles' contribution to supporting the national project of gas hydrate trial production.
CNPC expressed the hope that the two sides can take the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement as a sign to seize the historical opportunity of natural gas hydrate exploration and development by giving full play to their respective advantages, realizing resource sharing, complementary advantages and win-win cooperation. Together expand the marine engineering business at home and abroad and jointly promote the development of marine engineering.
CIMC Raffles expressed the hope that the two sides can establish a long-term liaison, close cooperation thereby achieving common development. CIMC group and CIMC Raffles will give full play to their advantages in the high-end equipment field of marine engineering and contribute to the national gas hydrate development in the South China Sea and the global deep-water market development.
