June 6, 2018 afternoon, "1st (Yantai) China International Symposium on Offshore Engineering Equipment" was held in CIMC Offshore Engineering Institute (CIMC OEI). This Symposium is sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC, the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province and the People's Government of Yantai Municipality, and organized by CIMC, CIMC OEI and CIMC Raffles. Zhang Jianguo, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC, Maxim Strikha, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Liu Jungang, Vice Chairman of the Shandong Provincial CPPCC, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Mayor Zhang Yongxia of the People’s Government of Yantai Municipality presided over the opening ceremony. Zhang Yongxia announced that Yantai is the permanent venue of the China International Symposium on Offshore Engineering Equipment. We people will do our best to provide service guarantees. Conducting in-depth exchanges and cooperation between experts, enterprises and the government in the field of international offshore equipment, Build a cooperative platform of mutual benefit and win-win sharing. Shapoval Stella Stepanivna, Deputy Head of the Department of International Scientific and Technical Cooperation of ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Artem Rozhdestvenskyi First Secretary of the Ukrainian Embassy in China, Chen Linhao, Deputy Director of the Department International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC, Chen Jiachang, Director of the China Science and Technology Exchange Center, Liu Weimin, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province, Liu Mengde, Vice President of Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences), Wang Xiaojun, Vice Mayor of the People's Government of Yantai Municipality and the head of the relevant department of the People’s Government of Yantai Municipality, Zhao Hui, Vice President of CIMC Raffles, Teng Yao, deputy general manager of CIMC OEI, also attended the opening ceremony.

After the opening ceremony, the guests visited the Shandong-Ukrainian Science and Technology Cooperation Exhibition which was concurrently held in CIMC OEI. The guests visited CIMC Raffles Shipyard in Yantai accompanied by Su Bo, assistant general manager of CIMC OEI. Yan Yongjun, Assistant President of CIMC Raffles accompanied the guests to visit the company exhibition hall and deep water terminal. The guests were shocked by the rig platform of CIMC Raffles, Appreciated the feat of designing and building the pillars of a great power for CIMC Raffles.

The China International Symposium on Offshore Engineering Equipment was hosted by Teng Yao, deputy general manager of CIMC OEI. More than 80 experts and representatives from Ukraine, Norway, Sweden, Germany, the United States and other countries have conducted in-depth exchanges on upgrading the technical level of offshore equipment. 8 experts make special speeches which focus on the field of the Development trend of offshore equipment manufacturing technology, Offshore equipment and its new technologies, New standards and advanced, efficient and intelligent design and construction of offshore engineering. They are the delegation of the Paton Welding Institute of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences, which led by Valery Pozniakov, Johan Gardin, the Regional Offshore Manager of DNV GL, Wu Chenxi, the Business Development Manager of American Bureau of Shipping, Dagfinn Müller, Senior Sales Manager Fishery of Norwegian Kongsberg, Yan Yaohui, Deputy General Engineer of Yantai Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, Zhang Zhengjun, Expert of Siemens.

The Symposium will be held regularly as an annual meeting of international cooperation in the field of offshore engineering.It is of great significance to strengthening technical exchanges and cooperation in the design and construction of offshore equipment for enterprises, universities and research institutes, promoting the application of advanced technologies, promoting the transformation and upgrading of Shandong's high-end equipment manufacturing industry, and catching up with the world's advanced level.
