Yantai Raffles has a strong Corporate Social responsibility and always gives back to its community.
In May 2008, Yantai Raffles set up the Sichuan Earthquake Relief Fund and through the generosity of its clients, suppliers, business partners and employees a donation of RMB 2,000,000 was presented to Sichuan Province Red Cross Society of China. The proceeds have aided the construction of Beichuan County in Mianyang city, considered to be one of the worst effected cities in the quake zone.
After the notification on donations to Taiwan was published on 24 August, many of our staff acted immediately to give donations for our Taiwan compatriots in disaster areas. We would like to show our appreciation to your unity, generosity and compassion, and hope that all of us will carry this spirit in our work.
The individual donation collecting campaign for individual donations to China Yushu earthquake-hit area rescue, which was launched by Charity Fund of Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Co., Ltd., has successfully ended with a total donation of RMB 211,960.50 by over 3,164 donators. The donations have been sent to Yantai Red Cross, and will soon be transferred to Qinghai Yushu Red Cross via Shandong Red Cross.
We have set up a variety of social responsibility schemes to look after members of Shandong who may be struggling or suffering hardship. In January 2009 we successfully visited
3 villages in Shandong, including Datuan, Dongkou and Xikou in Zhifu Island in which we donated gifts with the total value of RMB30,000 to elderly members of the community.
The Chinese community is at the heart of Yantai Raffles success and we continually forge strong relationships with its members.
On the morning of 14 June 2009, Production Center (Equipment & Power) took part in the activity of "Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Publicity Week" at Yantai Haibin Plaza which is co-organised by Yantai Economic and Trade Committee, Yantai Energy-Saving Office and Yantai Energy Supervision Detachment. In the activity, we showed our achievements in energy conservation and consumption reduction in the past two years and our direction for future work. As a world-class offshore company, we showed our commitments to the society.
