      YTCRO Engineering Center (EC) is a comprehensive center with engineering design, research development and consultancy of ship and offshore engineering equipment (rig) oriented. It consists of front-end Engineering Department, Detail Design Department, Engineering Output Department, Engineering Management Department etc.; It covers calculation and analysis of stability, structure design, overall strength and fatigue, hydrodynamics, vibration and noises, high pressure piping, mooring etc.; it has the capability of system, detail and process design on the area in naval architecture, structure, electricity, piping, outfitting, ducting etc.; EC has completed independently analysis and design works of several DP2 and DP3 products and was highly evaluated by Owner and Class.

      Presently EC total have over 720 employees, personnel; it has advanced 3D design platform, perfect data simulation techniques, advanced design management platform and mode, as well as the module design concept; it aims at to be the world Number One team in offshore engineering and to provide the world-class technical service for ocean exploitation.

      This international research, developing and design team adopts the most advanced design concept and technology results; it owns 720 employees: there are 3% senior researchers, 6% senior engineers,2%; the team has the capacity of basic design ( includes design and calculation of naval architecture and function), detailed design and process design of semi-submersible platforms ,jack-up platforms, regular and special-ships; the yearly design capacity is 4-6 semi-submersible platforms or jack up drilling platforms or special purpose ships.

    R&D Basic Design

      With the advanced international analysis and calculation software: NAPA & GHS ( stability analysis software), ABAQUSstructure analysis software)、HARPhydrodynamics software)、SACShydrodynamic and structure analysis software)、VA ONEnoises analysis software)、CAESAR(high pressure piping analysis software)etc., it can independently complete the basic design of all kinds of regular and special ship forms, which covers stability analysis, hydrodynamic analysis, mooring system analysis, structure strength and fatigue analysis, vibration and noises prediction, high pressure piping mechanics analysis, dropping analysis etc.. Now EC has completed the basic design of several semi-submersible platforms and jack-up platforms.

    NAPA and GHS, with the capacity of the stability analysis for semi-submersible platforms, jack-up platforms and all types of ships, have completed the stability analysis works for several projects;

     

     

    2Floating Body Hydrodynamic Analysis

    2.1 Hydrodynamic analysis of semi-submersible platform

    Mooring Analysis

    2.2 The present hydrodynamic and mooring analysis software HARP has the analysis capacity for semi-submersible platform. EC has completed hydrodynamic and mooring analysis for several semi-submersible platforms, and the relevant analysis reports have been submitted to ABS and obtain the approval from ABS.

    3Structure Design and Finite Element Analysis

      3D finite element analysis software CATIA, ABAQUS, SACS can carry out the overall and local structure design and analysis for semi-submersible platform, jack-up platform, jacket platform and all types of ships.

    3.1 Based on CATIA and ABAQUSEC has completed the analysis of overall yielding, buckling, fatigue strength for several semi-submersible; and those analysis reports have been approved by ABS.

    3.2 Based on SACSEC has completed the overall yielding, buckling and fatigue strength analysis for several Jack-up platform; Those analysis reports have been approved by ABS.

     3.3 Based on CATIA, ABAQUS, SACS softwareEC has completed the local structure design and strength analysis for all the as-built and on building projects, which includes 8 semi-submersible platform, 5 jack-up platform, 3 ships. Main analysis types are about foundation structure analysis, helicopter platform structure analysis, relevant mooring and lifesaving apparatus structure analysis, special types structure analysis.

    3.4 Based on CATIA, ABAQUS, EC has completed the finite element analysis for on building projects during the mating by 20000ton lifting, those projects includes 4semi-submersible platforms, 1 piping laying vessel; the calculation results match the site measurement data well.

    3.5 High Pressure Piping Mechanics Analysis

      CAESAR can do the strength and modal analysis for high-pressure piping and the finite element analysis of piping support; its working scope includes all the on building semi-submersible platforms, jack-up platforms and all the types of ships.

    4. Vibration and Noise Prediction Analysis

      Use ABAQUS to carry out the vibration analysis and use VA ONE to carry out the noises analysis; EC have completed the vibration and noises prediction analysis for several semi-submersible platforms, ships; the analysis reports are identical well with actual test results.

    Detail Design

    Process Design

      To for the 2D shop drawing for structure, electricity, piping, equipment, outfitting, HVAC base on 3D design, this works reduce the design period and guarantee the synchronism of shop drawing issue, improve the outfitting construction rate; to carry out the virtual imitation for the key process combined with advanced digital simulation system, which reduce the construction difficulty and improve the construction efficiency and accuracy.

      The virtual module design, which integrate engineering, production, commission resource, reduce the design and construction efficiency and make the pre outfitting degree to be above 93%; now EC have formed machinery module, pump module, living quarters module, drilling module etc.
